The house rules for a careful kitchen sink
KitchenSink4Word, KitchenSink4XL, KitchenSink4PPT, and KitchenSink4Web are free Community editions under AGPL-3.0. They are built for assistants that work with important files, so the house standard is simple: preserve the file, refuse an ambiguous instruction, and keep a backup a person can go back to.
These rules explain what the tools protect, what they cannot decide for an assistant, and when the Community shelf is the right shelf for your work. They guide you to the governing documents instead of trying to replace them.
AI output is still AI output
The Sinks' integrity guarantees concern the files the tools handle. The Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tools validate their own writes, preserve untouched content byte for byte, and create a backup before a change; all four refuse an ambiguous target instead of guessing.
Those guarantees do not make an AI assistant's instructions or conclusions true. An assistant can misunderstand a request, select the wrong source, invent a fact, produce a hallucination, or draw a wrong conclusion. The Sinks carry out the instructions they receive. They cannot tell a correct instruction from a confident but mistaken one.
Review AI-generated and AI-edited work before relying on it. Check the source data, the changes, and the conclusions. Keep backups and use the permissions and review controls appropriate to your work; we do not guarantee against loss of data. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or truth of content an AI assistant produces or edits with these tools, subject to the governing terms and applicable law, or for business decisions based on it. Pick the right shelf
Community Edition
Free and open source under AGPL-3.0. It may be used for personal or commercial work when the AGPL's terms are met, including its source-sharing obligations.
No warranty and no support commitment. Use the public issue tracker for reproducible bug reports and feature requests.
The Community edition is the right choice when you can operate the tools under AGPL-3.0 and do not need the Business service layer.
Business Edition
A paid annual subscription for organizations under the License and Terms of Sale. It is Windows-only and adds the guided installer, signed update channel, limited email support, the license portal, and access to those Fixtures as released and purchased.
The Software is provided as is. The subscription includes the support and service terms stated in the License and Terms of Sale, including the stated refund and renewal provisions.
Choose Business when your organization needs the commercial licensing and service layer described in the License and Terms of Sale.
The Business edition does not change the responsibility to review AI-generated work. Neither edition replaces endpoint security, backups, or human review.
The house standard
Everything plus the kitchen sink
Each Sink is built around one document format, with enough capability that an assistant does not have to shop around for basic work in that format.
Engineered not to corrupt
The Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tools use atomic validated saves, automatic backups before changes, and byte-identical passthrough for content they do not touch. Adversarial test evidence is published with each release. These are statements about the tools' file handling, not a promise that an assistant chose the right content to write.
Refuses rather than guesses
When a target is ambiguous, the tools refuse and show the candidates. A confident wrong edit is the one product this store does not stock.
Governing documents
- Terms of Sale: the purchase, renewal, refund, service, and other sale terms for Business customers.
- The License: the Business license agreement, including its use rights and liability provisions.
- Refunds: the refund policy and how to request one.
- Privacy: how the site and related services handle personal information.
- AGPL-3.0: the license supplied with each Community edition, including its warranty and liability terms.
