Choose what you need
Word
Read and edit .docx documents, work with tracked changes and citations, fill templates and assemble reports. Live editing through Microsoft Word shows the changes in the open document. The supported Word distribution is Windows only.
KitchenSink4Word Community EditionExcel
Read and edit .xlsx workbooks, work with formulas and tables, and see whether a value is calculated, cached, or missing. The file tools run on Windows, macOS, and Linux; the Excel-powered features need Windows with Excel.

Create and revise .pptx decks with editable shapes, diagrams, tables, and charts. The file tools run on Windows, macOS, and Linux; live PowerPoint features and export depend on the applications installed.

Read pages, extract tables, and capture what you need in a local browser. Reading is on by default; you enable clicking and typing when a task needs them. Browser tools run on Windows, macOS, and Linux; image-text recognition needs Windows OCR.
KitchenSink4Web Community EditionWho Community is for
Community suits people and organizations that want the open-source tools, can meet the AGPL's terms, and are comfortable managing their own setup. That includes personal projects, research, education, and business work. Being a company does not by itself make Community the wrong edition.
Install
Follow the product's setup instructions for your AI app. Claude Desktop uses a .mcpb extension and needs uv installed. Claude Code, Codex CLI, Copilot CLI, and other MCP clients connect through their local MCP configuration.
Each product is on PyPI; for clients that launch local commands, uvx fetches and runs the package. Installing a package on its own does not connect it to your AI app. Follow the product guide and restart your session after configuration.
What Community includes
The open-source document and browser tools, their documentation, the package downloads, and the public bug tracker. The file and browser work is the same work the Business tools do; Community is not a deliberately weaker edition.
What it does not include
A Business license, the Business Windows installer, the Business update channel, paid support, or Business-only workflow packs. Public issues are for reproducible bugs and feature requests, not a support commitment.
Report bugs with a minimal example that contains nothing confidential. Follow the product's security-reporting instructions for security concerns rather than opening a public issue with sensitive details.
When to choose Business
Choose Business when your organization wants a commercial license, a guided Windows deployment, a managed update policy, or support under Business terms. Start with a task your team already performs, then decide whether the deployment and service fit.
Local processing, with clear boundaries
The tools process files on your machine. Your AI app may send prompts, document content and results to its provider, and the browser connects to the websites you ask it to use. Installation and optional update checks use the network. Cloud folders and backups follow their own settings.
