Licensing
The short version: the free Community edition covers most everyday use, including business use. Some company deployments need a paid license. Not sure which you are? Email [email protected] and we'll give you a plain answer.
Free: Community edition. Free for personal and business use. Install it, use it daily, use it for client work, no payment needed. (It's licensed under AGPL-3.0, an open-source license.)
Paid: commercial license. Certain commercial and enterprise deployments require a paid license. Your company needs one if any of these apply:
- Your company changed the software's code and runs that changed version as a service other people connect to, without sharing the changes.
- Your company's policy doesn't allow AGPL open-source software.
- You want the Business edition: commercial terms your procurement team can approve, plus updates and support.
